Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu

We drive through farmlands and beautiful landscapes to the starting point of trek at Sybru Besi,. Thereafter, we pass each day just walking through forest, villages, and fields and amazing at the nature at its best.We follow a rugged trail with dramatic views; to the west Himal Chuli (7893m) Manaslu (8156m) and Ganesh Himal (7406m). On a clear day even the Annapurna range can be seen rising up behind and to the north across the valley is Langtang Lirung. We pass a few huts in the high picture of Laurebina, cross a small ridge and have our first views of the holy lakes. There are about a dozen lakes in the Gosainkunda Basin, the main three being Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda, and Gosainkunda. According to legend, Gosainkunda was created by Shiva when he pierced a glacier with his trident to obtain water to quench his thirst after having swallowed a poison that threatened to destroy the world.

  • Day 02: Trek to Lama Hotel (2380 m), approx 6 hours.
  • Day 03: Trek to Langtang (3500 m), approx 4 hours.
  • Day 04: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3800 m), approx 5 hours.
  • Day 05: Explore Kyanjin Gompa, day hikes.
  • Day 06: Trek to Ghora Tabela (3000 m), approx 5 hours.
  • Day 07: Trek to Thulo Syabru (2100 m), approx 7 hours.
  • Day 08: Trek to Sing Gompa (3,250 m), approx 3 hours.
  • Day 09: Trek to Gosainkund (4,300 m), approx 6 hours.
  • Day 10: Trek to Tharepati (3490 m),.
  • Day 11: Trek to Gul Bhanjyang (2140 m).
  • Day 12: Trek to Chisapani (2300 m).
  • Day 13: Drive back to Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel.
